드라마 <멜로가 체질> 속 다섯 인물을 건축주로 설정하여, 새로운 형태의 가족을 위한 주거 공간을 설계했다. 이들은 혈연으로 맺어진 전통적 가족이 아니라, 친구 관계를 기반으로 한 비혈연 공동체로서 한 식구처럼 함께 생활한다. 이러한 공동체는 단순히 계약 관계로 맺어지는 쉐어하우스와 달리, 가족처럼 서로를 돌보고 일상에 깊이 관여한다는 점에서 차별성을 지닌다.
이러한 건축주의 특성을 반영하여, 본 설계에서는 소통과 상호 케어를 핵심 가치로 설정하였다. 또한 구성원의 직업적 배경을 고려하여 미디어 감상실과 작업실을 주요 공유 공간으로 도출하였다. 공간 구성은 중심에 보이드를 배치하고, 이를 축으로 각 구성원의 영역을 배치하는 방식으로 진행되었다. 자연스러운 시선의 연결을 위해 레벨을 조정하여 스킵-플로어 구조를 형성하였고, 매스를 밀고 당기는 조형적 전략으로 외관에서도 이러한 구조적 특징이 드러나도록 했다.
최종적으로, 층간 단절을 완화하는 다층적 공간 구성을 구현함으로써 입체적인 시선 교류가 가능하도록 하였다. 이를 통해 비혈연 공동체가 일상과 감정을 공유하며, 정서적 유대를 형성할 수 있는 주거 공간을 제안한다.
This project sets the five characters from the drama <멜로가 체질(be Melodramatic)> as the clients, envisioning a residential space for a new form of family. Unlike a traditional family bound by blood, they form a non-kin community based on friendship, living together as if they were one household. What distinguishes this community from an ordinary contractual share house is the way its members care for one another and engage deeply in each other’s daily lives, much like a family.
Reflecting these characteristics, the design establishes communication and mutual care as its core values. Considering the professional backgrounds of the members, a media screening room and a studio were introduced as primary shared spaces.
The spatial organization places a central void at the heart of the layout, around which each member’s private domain is arranged. To create natural visual connections, floor levels were adjusted to form a skip-floor structure, while the pushing and pulling of masses was employed as a formal strategy to express this structural feature on the exterior.
Ultimately, by mitigating the disconnection between floors through a multilayered spatial composition, the design enables three-dimensional visual interaction. In doing so, it proposes a dwelling where a non-kin community can share daily life and emotions, cultivating emotional bonds within a collective home.
